Yesterday was a beautiful day on Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula, so the Miller Tree Inn, Innkeepers took advantage of the day and the weather. We took a drive up to Hurricane Ridge and got there early enough that there was no waiting at the entrance station. Though most of the wildflowers have disappeared, there were still some to be seen at the higher elevations. Our chosen adventure for the day was a hike up the newly paved Hurricane Hill Trail.
It was a busy day on the trail, but the vast majority of fellow hikers were masked up and respectful of social distancing practices. The views from the top were spectacular and we even encountered a mother deer with 2 spotted fawns. It was a highlight of our day.
At our picnic lunch, we were entertained by the antics of some fearless chipmunks as well as the mountain vistas. Following lunch and a little shopping for the inn, we took a ride out to Ediz Hook, had an early dinner and then stopped for a quick walk up to Marymere Falls at Lake Crescent. It was a fun filled day!
